Yslandys is a person. He’s a man blessed with a sunny smile, a passion for helping people, and a pair of extraordinary hands.

Magdiel Yslandys Torres (known informally as “Landy”) was born in a small coastal village of the Dominican Republic. After he legally immigrated to the United States, he enrolled in a rigorous course of professional training at the Massage Institute of New England in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in order to pursue his passion of massage.

At the Institute, Landy completed over 600 hours of intense instruction in human anatomy, physiology, and pathology, as well as hands-on techniques for Swedish Massage, Reflexology, Trigger-point Therapy, Range of Motion, and Sports Massage. A top student at the Institute, Landy went on to earn a diploma as a Certified Massage Therapist (CMT) and then completed 100 additional hours of technical training in Deep Tissue Massage and Pregnancy Massage.

Having finished his formal training, Landy and his wife subsequently moved to Larkspur, in Marin County, to start a private practice. In less than a year, Landy earned a wide reputation as a gifted massage therapist whose personal mission was to make people feel better. His client base expanded rapidly to over 400 and included many repeat customers, some of whom traveled a great distance just to have a session with him. Clients praised him for the therapeutic quality of his work, and often referred him to their friends.

Several years ago Landy moved his practice to Aptos. His reputation is already growing in the County. A first-time Capitola client recently commented; “Wow! It was incredible! He reduced the pain in my hip enough that I could stand up straight afterwards. I even had more color in my face”.

An Aptos client who suffers severe back pain said, “It was fantastic! I could feel some relief almost immediately, and began to relax”. She was so impressed she eagerly signed up for a package of five follow-up sessions.

Landy continues to expand his knowledge. Last year he obtained certification in Pregnancy Massage at the Institute of Conscience Bodywork in Corte Madera, CA.
